Professor Jörg J. Schneider

About the author

Jörg J. Schneider studied chemistry at the Philipps Universitaet Marburg, Germany and obtained a Dr. rer. nat. in 1986. From 1987 until 1988 he was a post doc at Kansas State University, KS, Manhattan, USA and from 1989–1994 a post-doc at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, Mülheim a.d. Ruhr, Germany. From 1994 until 1999 he was a Heisenberg Fellow of the DFG at the University of Essen and from 2000–2003 a full professor for Inorganic Chemistry at the Karls-Franzens-Universität, Austria. Since 2003 he has been a professor for inorganic chemistry at the Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany.

His current research interests are in the area of materials chemistry: Functional properties of carbon nanotubes, graphene, metal oxides for electronics, catalytic and sensoric properties of these materials and their hybrids as well as organometallic chemistry of polycondensed aromatics.
