Abstract

A precision technique for measuring the angular distribution of differential cross sections for elastic scattering of charged particles using position-sensitive solid-state track detectors has been developed. The technique is based on the freedom of choice of the angle pitch under the condition of the minimum angular resolution of the spectrometric system, which is determined by the geometry of the experimental setup. The differential cross sections in the reaction 27Al({Alpha}, {Alpha})27Al have been measured at an {Alpha} particle energy of 5.5 MeV.
