Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate an applicability of multi-intensity impact test and viscoelastic model proposed in previous studies to a long pile synthetic turf. The multi-intensity impact test and the parameter identification method of the exponential function type nonlinear Voigt model was performed to three kinds of long pile synthetic turfs with different hardness. Although the very high accuracy identification results were observed in the polyurethane sports surfaces, there were not so high accuracies for the long pile synthetic turf because the testing conditions are not stable compared to the polyurethane surfaces. Therefore, we improved the test foot in terms of impact area and the stability structure. Furthermore, we also improved the parameter identification procedure. Finally, we had stable results from the impact tests and relatively high model accuracies compare to the original impact test.
